Stand on right leg with your left knee raised up (keeping thigh parallel to the ground and toes either pointing down or pointing up with the foot parallel to the ground as well), the left forearm and knife edge of your hand is resting on your left thigh with the right arm blocking/ guarding above your head with a knife hand (palm facing out). This is a left Crane Stance. The Crane Stance can be used of blocking, trapping and evading leg sweeps or attacks to the legs. Since the Crane is known for balance, practicing blocks, strikes, and kicks while in this stance will challenge and work your balance.
